Strategic Actions:
| A | 1.1 Strengthen the Ateneo Center for Leadership in terms of its mandate, scope, structure and coordination mechanisms.
1.2 Facilitate the creation of an Institute of Politics and Good Governance. 1.3 Include in the mandate of the Alumni/ae Office the formation of a network of graduates who are willing to continually coordinate, cooperate and partner with the AdDU in implementing its vision-mission-goals. |
| F | 1.4 Develop and implement a clear AdDU sui generis leadership program across all units and sectors of the University. This then includes active citizenship programs. A continuing formation program for alumni/ae will also be established so they may continue to promote and live out University ideals. A leadership development program for University administrators will likewise be put in place to help them in their leadership and governance responsibilities.
1.5 Integrate and strengthen programs and activities to promote physical, mental and social health of the students, faculty and staff to better enable them to be AdDU sui generis leaders. |
| I | 1.6 Integrate AdDU sui generis leadership and concepts on transparency and good governance in the curriculum. Introduce integration courses in the final University years or basic education courses to further internalize AdDU sui generis leadership. Promote the challenge to go into public service in the integration course. Utilize the service learning mechanism towards the formation of AdDU sui generis leaders who are expected to promote good governance and active citizenship. Deploy students in practicum courses in key government offices and encourage graduates to serve in the same institutions. |
| R | 1.7 Track or monitor AdDU alumni/ae in various sectors of society.
1.8 Encourage and promote research and policy studies that impact on good governance, including strengthening the City-Wide Social Survey, supporting the Blue Vote Program and other such initiatives which make these research and policy studies more visible to their stakeholders. |
| E | 1.9 Provide venues for immersing students, faculty and staff to various modalities of leadership experiences with different communities, institutions, and organizations outside the University to harness their leadership potentials. Develop good governance leadership programs for newly elected public officials and craft programs for upgrading the leadership capabilities of incumbent public officials; and provide avenues for student apprenticeship in government service.
1.10 Support existing whistle blower programs in pursuit of the fight against corruption in the bureaucracy. Institutionalize the Blue Vote Program as an election campaign monitoring to ensure honest, open, free, and credible elections. Aggressively pursue an electoral reform agenda as well as an active citizenship campaign. 1.11 Organize, enable and collaborate with alumni/ae in leadership positions and those involved with civil society organizations towards the promotion of good governance. |
